Sirs: My wife and I had a $65K HELOC with Chase. Our 1st Mortgage was 300K with 6 +% interest. Just last year Chase notified me that we could no longer use our HELOC to draw cash or pay anything.
The fooled us into consolidating our Mortgage and HELOC into one Mortgage. After listening to you on KSCO today, I see a glimmer of hope that we just might - with only a pension and Social Security as income - go to our GOLDEN1 Calif. Credit Union and open a new (liquid) HELOC,abd use it as you suggested... to pay down some of our mortgage. Is this wise at our stage of life? Many thanks for you words on KSCO. Sincerely, Charles and Edna
